My goal

I want everyone in the neighborhood to be able to use this website, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. The website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2 AA).

What the website does

  • Text is large (18 pixels by default) and can be zoomed to 200% without breaking the layout.
  • Text and buttons have strong color contrast.
  • Everything can be used with a keyboard, and a "Skip to main content" link comes first.
  • Pages use headings, landmarks and labels that screen readers announce.
  • Form errors are listed at the top of the form and next to each field.
  • Reading the website works without JavaScript; the contact form needs it for its spam check.
  • The website respects the "reduce motion" setting.
  • Photos have text descriptions.

Known limitations

The spam protection on the contact form (Google reCAPTCHA v3) runs in the background and asks nothing of you. It needs JavaScript and Google's reCAPTCHA script, so the form cannot send a message if either one is blocked, for example by a content blocker. If a message still cannot be sent, please try another browser or device.

Report a problem

If something on this website is hard to use, please tell me through the contact form. Say which page it was and what happened, and I will fix it as soon as I can.
